Nine MTV nominations for Katy Perry

Pop star Katy Perry has received nine nominations for MTV awards this year – more than any other act.
The singer, who is married to Russell Brand, has been shortlisted for best pop video, best video of the year and best special effects.
Other nominees include Adele, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.
The Video Music Awards are an annual MTV event which aim to reward the world’s biggest music stars.
The awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles in August.
Lady Gaga, who got a record-smashing 13 nominations at the 2010 awards, has just three nominations this year.
Other acts battling for awards are Cee-Lo Green, Justin Bieber and Eminem.
