Minogue could present This Morning

Former X-Factor judge Dannii Minogue is set to return to TV screens on ITV’s This Morning show, according to reports.

The Sunday Mirror says the Australian – sister of diminutive Antipodean export Kylie – is in talks with channel chiefs about presenting the breakfast programme.

Minogue was famously axed as an X-Factor judge this series – along with Cheryl Cole – due to judging roles on other talent shows.

The pair have been replaced by Tulisa from N-Dubz and Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child.

Minogue is apparently hoping to bag a hosting role on This Morning, or, at the very least, grab a special fashion slot, with the chance to fill in for usual presenter Holly Willoughby when she is away.

The Sunday Mirror claimed an insider said Dannii “loved” This Morning, and was eager to capitalise on her status as a “fashion icon” by providing advice on the latest styles and trends for the show.

Despite being axed from the forthcoming series of the X Factor on ITV, Dannii Minogue has said that she is still a big fan of the show according to a story in The Sun today.

The new line-up will be announced officially soon but already confirmed are N-Dubz singer Tulisa, and talks are being carried out with ex-Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland.

Fans of the Australian singer however have been shocked by the axe but ITV bosses say that it is due to her being unable to take part in essential filming due to commitments on Australia’s Got Talent.

Dannii said: “The X Factor is brilliant and I’ve been the biggest fan since the first series. This year I will be watching the show from wherever I am. Can I still dress up at home?

“I have been moved by the messages I have received from fans.

“I’m disappointed that Team Minogue can’t be a part of the show again this year. We simply couldn’t make the dates work.”

Following on from being forced out of ITV’s the X Factor as a judge, according to The Sun, Dannii Minogue could be joining the BBC as a judge on a new singing reality TV show.

The new show, set to air on prime time Saturday, will jusge contestants on their voice and vocal ability by a panel of judges who will sit with their back to them.

The US version of the show is hugely popular and features singers Christina Aguilera as one of the the famous panel.

A spokesman for the BBC said last night: “Bosses really want Dannii, as she was hugely popular on the X Factor and really knows her stuff.

“She mentored Matt Cardle to the crown last year and is really good with contestants. It is a really big hit in the US and we are looking to do our own version for next year.

“But the casting of judges is really important. It is all about getting the right people involved in order to make it work.

“She would be great on The Voice.”

According to metro.co.uk, Dannii Minogue is heading to London to discuss contracts for this year’s X Factor.

Dannii was the winning mentor in the 2010 series and has flown back to the UK, amid reports that Simon Cowell is planning to change the judging line-up.

Pop stars, Lilly Allen and Take That’s Gary Barlow, have been mentioned in the press as possible replacements to her seat on the ITV 1 show. But Minogue’s job looked to be safe, as she is reportedly following in the footsteps of Cheryl Cole and singing on the show.

Dannii fans could catch a glimpse of the star at the O2 arena next week, as she is planning to go and watch her 42-year-old sister on the last night of her British tour.

Dannii's arch rival Sharon Osbourne tipped to make a comeback on X Factor

According to the Daily Mail, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have made their last appearance on the UK version of the X Factor, leaving the door open for Sharon Osbourne.

The bosses at ITV are desperately trying to stop Cheryl and Simon leaving the show, but both have said that doing both the U.S and UK version is untenable.

Sharon, 58, and Dannii, 39, have been enemies since their first appearance on the X Factor in 2007. After just one series of the show, Sharon decided enough was enough and left the show because of the rift with the Australian.

Dannii revealed her views on the spat, claiming in her autobiography that Osbourne bullied her during their time together on the show.

A host of A-list celebrities have put their names forward to take the place of Cheryl and Simon on the judging panel.

Minogue calls the X-factor judges 'rude'

Danni Minogue has branded Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole as ‘rude’ for whispering during the X-factor live shows.

The Australian made the comments in an interview for Heat magazine, where she also admitted to using Botox saying she ‘might do it again.’

‘You did have to lean in to be heard because the audience was so loud but I didn’t do it when the camera was on me – which Simon and Cheryl did – or when Dermot was speaking. I thought it was rude’, Minogue told Heat magazine.

The judge won talent show X-factor as mentor for Matt Cardle, who sailed through the whole series never being out of the top two each week, it has emerged. The 39-year-old has also said that she would ‘love’ to return to X-factor next year.

Relations between Danni Minogue and the other judges have always been strained, however we saw Minogue and Cole share an embrace following the announcement of the winner.

The winner of X-factor, Matt Cardle, has apologised for accidentally punching his mentor Minogue in the face as she went to hug him on stage. He had his head in his hands as he watched the replay on This Morning yesterday. The 27-year-old also tweeted saying ‘Just watched the video, sorry for punching you in the face! x’

Matt Cardle is hoping to hit the number one spot next week with his cover of Biffy Cliro’s ‘Many of Horror’ that the X-factor team have re-named ‘When we collide’. He is in stiff competition from Ellie Goulding, Coldplay and charity single ‘Cage Against the Machine’.
